The Cathedral of Iveria Virgin Mary is situated in Tsvirmi, a village in Mestia Municipality, within Georgia's Samegrelo-Zemo Svaneti region. This modern religious edifice is notable for its recent construction, having been built between 2015 and 2018.
The Cathedral's construction was the initiative of Koba Gigliniani, a Tsvirmi resident, whose dedication resulted in the successful completion of the project in three years. In 2018, the temple was consecrated, marking its official opening and readiness for worship.
As part of the Diocese of Mestia and Zemo Svaneti, the Cathedral of Iveria Virgin Mary is an integral component of the region's religious ecosystem, adding to its spiritual depth despite its relative newness.
